About Us

We are New Hope Community Church's Scout Troop 199 from Villa Park, IL, comprised of a boy's and girl's unit.

Founded in 1985, we have a strong tradition of helping local youth develop into active and strong community leaders through our outdoor programs and service projects. Our troop consists of scouts from 11 to 17, all with varying interests and from different backgrounds, but who always come together to put on a great camping outing or help each other advance in a shared joy of scouting and the outdoors.

We understand that scouts are active in other areas of life as well, such as school and the community, so we know how to work with schedules so that everyone can get the most out of scouting.

We try to hold 12 outings a year, including a week long summer camp at a different scout camp every year.  We also offer high adventures for older scouts with more advanced skills, such as backpacking in the mountains of New Mexico and SCUBA diving in the Virgin Islands.

Our boy's unit meets at St. Alexander's gym every Monday at 7:00PM.

Our girl's unit meets at New Hope Community Church every Monday at 7:00PM.

We also meet together once a month, with locations announced ahead of time.
