Lombard 2019 Civil War Reenactment

Contact: Chuck Wozniak - 630.709.8688 or Larry Elmore - 630.336.6787 July 2019 - Lombard, IL - Stanford's Battery will host the eighth annual Lombard Civil War Reenactment at Four Seasons Park in Lombard from 10am - 4pm on Saturday & Sunday July 27th and July 28th, 2019. This family friendly event will feature Stanford's Battery Reenactors, portraying both Confederate and Union soldiers, in a Living History Encampment depicting an 1863 era military campsite. Military drills and demonstrations, cannon fire, Civil War era music and other interactive camp activities provide diversions for all ages. A skirmish between the North and South will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm. Suggested donations of $5 per person; all donations benefit continued living history demonstrations. In addition to the period camp, Stanford's Battery also brings four full-scale cannons. Dedicated to preserving Civil War History by engaging in living history displays, they also participate in school presentations, regional events and parades since 1994. Also Featured will be the 1st Brigade Band, composed of volunteers associated with the Wisconsin historical Society, performing music from the 1860s on antique instruments. Three concerts will be on Saturday at 11am, 12:30pm, and 2pm. Meet historic Figures on Saturday and Sunday. President Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Tubman and General Grant will be on site. President Lincoln, will be speaking on Sunday Only. Artillery, cavalry and medical demonstrations will also be happening all weekend.
